Caroline Ayong is studying for her masters degree in Public Health with a focus on Public Health Practice at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her interests are health policy, global health and women’s health. Caroline grew up in Cameroon where she experienced firsthand the effects of socioeconomic disparity on the health and well-being of the population. Upon graduation next May, she wants to focus her career on the political, social, cultural and economic determinants that underlie health care delivery and health inequalities among vulnerable members of the community, particularly in the area of women’s health in resource-poor settings both in the United States and abroad. She is excited about her internship with AFJN where she hopes to gain field experience in the area of advocacy for disadvantaged communities in Africa.
