Mirabella Ngozi Nwaka was born in Washington, DC and lives in Maryland. She is Nigerian-American. She is currently pursing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and a minor in Mathematics at Spelman College, in Atlanta, Georgia. She recently worked with low-income Floridian students, who are first generation immigrations of Afro-Latino descent on writing and public policy. Mirabella is an advocate for women and immigrants’ rights. She believes in giving those who are often voiceless in our society the right to speak. She hopes her internship with the Africa Faith & Justice Network will provide her with the experience and skills in order to be a catalyst for change. Mirabella also hopes to improve women’s political involvement/power in Africa and work to reshape both African governments and the people’s attitude towards it.
