Salena Geahwie is a senior at Trinity Washington University, where she is majoring in political science with a minor in English. Salena contributes to the Trinity community through numerous activities such as the black student alliance, poetry slams, and “Herstory”, an oral history class that focuses on the legacy and evolution of Trinity; she conducted interviews of Trinity alumni on their experiences at Trinity.
She also works alongside both the president and vice president of the senior class advising them on potential programs that can contribute to the Trinity community. Salena also helps her mother every summer organizing care packages for families experiencing poverty in Liberia. Her love for Africa comes from her family who is originally from Liberia. As an intern of Africa Faith and Justice Network, Salena desires to acquire a solid understanding of Africa’s issues in order to be part of the solution.
