International Day Commemoration: 16 Days of Activism

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the African Faith and Justice Network Nigeria(AFJN-N) Ebonyi State Chapter in collaboration with the Ebonyi Coalition of Civil Society Organizations commemorated the International Day of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The event aimed to raise awareness and mobilize action to end violence against women and girls.

The commemoration kicked off with a read walk from Waterworks to the Stadium, which drew participation from various stakeholders, including NAPTIP, NACTAL Human Rights, and other civil society organizations. The read walk served as a powerful symbol of solidarity and commitment to ending gender-based violence.

During the event, AFJN delivered a keynote address, focusing on the critical issues of ending early marriage and domestic servitude. The organization reiterated its commitment to working with stakeholders to address these social injustices and promote a culture of respect, dignity, and equality for all.

The 16 Days of Activism is a global campaign that seeks to galvanize action to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls. AFJN’s participation in the commemoration underscores its dedication to promoting human rights and social justice.
