Inspired by Pope Francis’ message of solidarity, this global call advocates for debt justice and transformative financial reforms to bring renewed hope to communities burdened by unsustainable debt.

A Juneteenth Reflection During the Jubilee Year of Hope
Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a significant day marking the emancipation of enslaved Africans in the United States. This day serves as a poignant reminder of our collective history, marked by the brutal realities of slavery, struggles for freedom, and the enduring spirit of resilience that defined our ancestors. In the spirit of the Jubilee year, a time traditionally associated with liberation, restoration, and renewal, we honor the memory and courage of those who fought for their freedom and paved the way for future generations.
Jubilee 2025 – Turn Debt into Hope Campaign
The Africa Faith and Justice Network, along with Caritas Internationalis, Jubilee USA Network, and other organizations are highlighting the impact of debt on struggling nations. We also encourage all AFJN members in the Washington DC area to sign up for the Jubilee USA Network’s Relay of Hope event on May 28th at 9:15 am and participate in the Turn Debt into Hope Campaign.
