Executive Director Position
The African Faith and Justice Network (AFJN), a Catholic education and advocacy network based in Washington DC, seeks a full-time Executive Director to lead the network’s commitment to challenging the U.S. Congress to enact just policies that positively impact the lives of African people. The position involves advocacy with U.S lawmakers and African Government entities as well as significant travel to Africa to engage local communities on social justice issues.
The Executive Director will have lived experience in Africa, extensive knowledge of Africa’s complex political, economic, and social context, with a deep understanding of Africa’s history and cultures. The candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and its application to the contemporary African context. Working knowledge of the U.S. and global politics is strongly desired. The role demands outstanding leadership characterized by communication, advocacy, fundraising, administrative and collaborative skills.
