The Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) is pleased to announce our 2024 Spring interns. Please join us in welcoming them to AFJN and read their biographies below:

Jolade Oshinkanlu

Jolade Oshinkanlu is a junior at Providence College, participating in the 2024 Spring Semester Program at American University in Washington DC. She majors in Global Studies and double minors in Political Science and Public Administration.

Jolade founded Catholic Relief Services with her colleagues on campus to advocate for change in the world. The purpose of the club is to work with organizations around the world to help the poor and vulnerable through Catholic Social Thought and moral teaching. Through the club, students could write letters to Congress, train with CRS professionals across the nation, and prepare for on-campus events. 

Jolade’s interest in African politics is deeply rooted in her experience with CRS and participation in the Model United Nations in New York City. She received the Honorable Mention Delegation The 2022 National Model United Nations issued. As an African Faith and Justice Network intern, Jolade is interested in learning about conflict resolution, fighting against government corruption and policies, and gender equality.


Jasmina Storen

Jasmina Storen is a junior at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, participating in the 2024 Spring Semester Program with American University in Washington DC. She is majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology with a focus on Justice and Law.

Jasmina is passionate about doing service projects, she is a leader at Youth for Christ, mentoring middle schoolers in the Kankakee area. As a criminal justice major, Jasmina’s main focus is advocacy for human rights and against human trafficking. As well as advocating for the ratification and implementation of international treaties and conventions that address human trafficking and protect human rights.  

As a Spring 2024 Intern with the Africa Faith and Justice Network, she hopes to address human rights violations and advocate for the protection of vulnerable populations.
