After ten years with the Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN), I had the opportunity this year, in the month of April, to participate in the Diocese of Erie 2026 Missionary Cooperative Plan (Mission Appeal) on behalf of AFJN’s mission. In November 2025, the Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) Ghana team made an advocacy visit to the Kuli community to support local efforts to end early and child marriage and domestic servitude.
As part of the visit, the team presented two sets of jerseys and two footballs to the two girls’ soccer clubs established by AFJN in the community. These clubs were created to reduce girls’ social isolation, provide safe leisure time away from exploitative domestic work, and build confidence, leadership, and essential life skills among the girls.

In October 2022, AFJN WEP received a three-year grant from the Conrad Hilton Foundation (Sisters Initiative) to build the capacity of sisters and the local communities towards ending child and early marriage and domestic servitude in Ghana and Nigeria. These projects took off in Ghana and Nigeria in November and December 2022 respectively.
