The March 26-27, 2026 event will feature “economic, industrial, scientific, political, cultural, diplomatic, and governmental decision-makers […] to reimagine, rewrite, and define the rules of the game for tomorrow’s Africa.”

On February 7 2026, Africa Faith and Justice Network Ghana wrote “Communities Empowered to Stop Early Child Marriage and Domestic Servitude” about the recent policy briefing that was held in Tamale, Ghana as part of the Women Empowerment Project.
Yesterday, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), with the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), released the joint statement “Brothers and Sisters in Hope: International Assistance and Mutual Solidarity between the Bishops and the Faithful of the United States and Africa.” The statement, centered around Catholic social thought’s key principles, includes a list of values to guide the faithful on how to navigate the current global climate. This statement comes ahead of the “Mass for Solidarity with the Bishops and Faithful of Africa” to be held on February 4th in Washington, DC.
On January 22, 2026, the Africa Faith and Justice Network Ghana published “Empowering Communities to End Child Marriage—One Step at a Time” about their December 10, 2025 “Interventions on Ending Early and Forced Child Marriages and Domestic Servitude in Selected Communities of the Northern Region Study” report by Maxwell Anamdare Asale (MPhil) and Lawrence Adukor Abanga (MSc).

In November 2025, the Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) Ghana team made an advocacy visit to the Kuli community to support local efforts to end early and child marriage and domestic servitude.
As part of the visit, the team presented two sets of jerseys and two footballs to the two girls’ soccer clubs established by AFJN in the community. These clubs were created to reduce girls’ social isolation, provide safe leisure time away from exploitative domestic work, and build confidence, leadership, and essential life skills among the girls.
In September 2025 the Africa Faith and Justice Network, Nigeria (AFJN-N) held an “Ending Domestic Servitude and Early Child Marriage” policy briefing at Jubilee Hall, Holy Ghost Cathedral, in Enugu State, Nigeria. The event drew stakeholders from different organizations including the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), traditional rulers, law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, civil society groups, church leaders and the media.
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the African Faith and Justice Network Nigeria(AFJN-N) Ebonyi State Chapter in collaboration with the Ebonyi Coalition of Civil Society Organizations commemorated the International Day of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The event aimed to raise awareness and mobilize action to end violence against women and girls.

The Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) mourns the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Sr. Mary Lilly Driciru, MSMMC (Missionary Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church) who tragically lost her life on November 8, 2025. Sr. Lilly was the AFJN Coordinator for the Women Empowerment Project (WEP) in Uganda and a dedicated advocate for justice, peace, and human rights.
There is growing concern of United States (US) military intervention in Nigeria, after President Donald Trump’s weekend Truth Social posts calling for the redesignation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC). Given the complexity of Nigeria’s insecurity over the last fifteen years, and the US public’s apprehension for foreign military engagements, AFJN strongly advises against US intervention (especially military intervention) as these actions have the potential to destabilize the country and region.
The Africa Faith and Justice Network was one of hundreds of Civil Society Organizations that signed the join statement “Ensuring the Primacy of the Right to Health, Prevention, and Conflict-of-Interest Safeguards at the 4th United Nations High-Level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases” sent to the United Nations ahead of their High Level Meetings.
