From September 3 – 8, 2015, Africa Faith & Justice Network (AFJN) conducted seminars on land acquisition for Queen Mothers (women chiefs) Association of Ghana’s Volta Region.
AFJN Conference for Queen Mothers in Ho. The approximately 100 participants expressed great appreciation for being “enlightened” and “empowered” to act on behalf of the communities they represent.

Queen Mothers Leadership, AFJN Conference in Ho 2015. Less than 3 weeks after attending the seminar, Mama Alori II, queen mother from Dorfor area told AFJN that her cluster of towns and 2 other clusters will drop out of a land deal in process unless the deal is designed to benefit them now and generations to come. The 3 clusters represent about 20,000 members.
