Lydia Andrews
Lydia Andrews serves as Operations and Communications Manager for the Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN), where she oversees organizational operations, communications strategy, digital engagement, and administrative systems that support AFJN’s advocacy and education mission.
Over the years, Lydia has played a central role in strengthening AFJN’s organizational capacity during a period of transition. She helped modernize the organization’s operations through the implementation of cloud-based systems, streamlined internal processes, and strengthened infrastructure that enables effective collaboration among staff, board members, coalition partners, and stakeholders across the United States and Africa.
In her communications role, Lydia directs AFJN’s public outreach, media relations, digital communications, publications, event promotion, and donor engagement efforts. She manages the organization’s website, newsletters, press releases, annual reports, and social media presence, helping to amplify African perspectives on issues including economic justice, governance, women’s empowerment, land rights, debt reform, peacebuilding, and responsible US-Africa relations. Through strategic communications and storytelling, she has expanded awareness of AFJN’s advocacy work and strengthened engagement with supporters, policymakers, faith communities, and partner organizations.
Lydia has supported multiple executive leadership transitions, organizational strategic initiatives, and the expansion of AFJN’s national and international partnerships. Her work has contributed to increased visibility for AFJN’s policy advocacy, educational programming, coalition engagement, and grassroots initiatives, while ensuring the organization maintains efficient and effective operational systems.
Before joining AFJN, Lydia worked with several Catholic and nonprofit organizations in operations, policy, and program management roles. Her experience includes serving as an Operations and Program Consultant for Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities (FADICA), Deputy Director of Jubilee USA Network, and Assistant to the Director at the Institute for Policy Research and Catholic Studies at The Catholic University of America.
Lydia holds a Master’s degree in Political Theory from The Catholic University of America and a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Spanish from Marquette University. She is passionate about building strong mission-driven organizations and using strategic communications to advance justice, human dignity, and sustainable development.
