I am Jeannette Kayitesi. I’m currently a senior at the University At Albany where I am double majoring in Political Science and Globalization Studies. This past spring I was Interning at the New York State Assembly where I got the chance to experience the power of legislators’ influence on laws with impact at the state and international level.Having lived in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Cameroon, I am aware of the political and diplomatic issues facing those countries. The Genocide that happened in my country Rwanda cultivated in me a strong interest and a passion to pursue a career in politics and Conflict Resolution.During my journey with Africa Faith and Justice Network this summer, I hope to gain more knowledge about the US-Africa relation and skills to better advocate for peace and Justice in Africa.
